Dr. Hizia Berrou graduated from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan in 2023 majoring in Food Science and Technology. Hizia received her Bachelor’s in Nutrition, Alimentation, and Food Agro-Technologies degree as a state engineer. Her Master degree was in Food Technologies from the University of Mentouri Brothers–Constantine -1- (Algeria).
Dr. Berrou is interested in manufacturing and characterization of traditional Algerian cheese “Lbaa” and “Madghissa” and manufacturing of gluten-free cereals based on corn or pearl millet with starch. Dr. Hizia investigated the effects of the nixtamalization treatment of bitter lupine seeds on its bioactive and functional properties during her doctorate work and successfully published an outstanding scientific paper titled Hydration Kinetics of Nixtamalized White Bitter Lupine (Lupinus Albus. L) Seeds.
